Public Education

Public education regarding sexual assault is a vital component of our agency's awareness and "prevention" activities. It serves as a pro-active, educational response to issues of sexual violence.

We believe that increased awareness about sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse, and sexual harassment allows people to develop the skills and knowledge that will help them to identify dangerous situations, develop strategies for dealing with unsafe circumstances, and gain awareness of the resources and options that are available to them if they are survivors of sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse, or sexual harassment.

The staff of Muskoka/Parry Sound Sexual Assault Services provide education on sexual assault (and related issues) to schools, First Nations, clubs, community agencies, and the general public.

We also have a wide variety of brochures (from our agency and many others), lending libraries in Parry Sound and Bracebridge, handouts on a number of topic areas, and posters.
